This morning turned out to be a glad one for all the followers of Dulquer Salmaan as the actor took to Facebook to officially confirm his association with the project.

BizAsiaLive.com reported in January that there were rumours that Dulquer Salmaan would be joining Sonam Kapoor in the Hindi on-screen version of Anuja Chauhan's 2008 novel "The Zoya Factor".

According to Mumbai Mirror, the film is expected to go on the floors in August and will release on 5th April 2019.

Salman will play the role of Indian Team captain, Nikhil Khoda whereas Sonam will enter the shoes of an advertising agent, Zoya Singh Solanki.

Besides Karwaan, Dulquer is doing Mahanati, based on yesteryear idol Gemini Ganeshan's life, and Kannum Kannum Kollayadithaal in Tamil.

The Zoya Factor is based on Anuja Chauhan's novel of the same name.

Sonam tweeted the poster and wrote, "Super happy to be a part of this unique story #ZoyaFactor an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's bestseller. I'm excited that Pooja and Aarti are making this film with me and Abhishek, who is brilliant with actors", said the actress. Co-starring @sonamakapoor, directed by #AbhishekSharma.

The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma and bankrolled by Fox Star Studios. Sonam was sent an autographed copy of the book after he saw Neerja. The film will be a romcom woven with an ample dose of cricket. "I knew immediately that this was the boy we were looking for".

Sharma admitted to Sonam being his first choice for playing the jovial character of Zoya, who goes on to become the lucky mascot for boys in Indian cricket team whereas Nikhil remains sceptical of her intentions. "It's always great to work with Adlabs Films", Sharma said in a statement. Dulquer, too, share his excitement about the film, which he thinks has been adapted beautifully for the screen.
