HBO orders Nicole Kidman limited series The Undoing

Kelley will write and serve as showrunner for the series.

For HBO, The Undoing joins a roster of drama originals that also includes Game of Thrones, Westworld, The New Pope, J.J.

And on Tuesday, it was revealed that Nicole Kidman has scored another plum gig, teaming up with three of the driving forces behind the hit series to star and produce the Jean Hanff Korelitz adaption of You Should've Known. She'll have to rebuild her life in the wake of the revelations.

HBO programming president Casey Bloys said at the time of the announcement, "We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David and can't wait to bring this show to life".

HBO is re-teaming with key auspices behind its breakout Big Little Lies, including star Nicole Kidman and writer David E. Kelley. for a new limited series based on a bestselling book. Left to pick up the pieces after the "very public disaster", Grace "must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself" - and face the horror she feels in knowing she failed to heed her own warnings. Executive producers will be Kelley, Kidman, Per Saari from Blossom Films and Bruna Papandrea from Made Up Stories.

The Undoing is the story of Grace Sachs (Kidman) who is a successful therapist with a book on the way, a good marriage and a son in a private school in New York City. The adaptation was written by David E. Kelley. But her life is rocked by a series of tragedies: a violent death, the disappearance of her husband and "a chain of awful revelations" about the man she thought she knew.

She's the Oscar-winning Hollywood actresses who's been universally praised for her role of Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies. "I'm excited and honoured to continue collaborating with HBO and David E Kelley", said Kidman in a statement.

Kidman won an Emmy for her performance in Big Little Lies.
