Honda has positioned the X-Blade to attract youngsters and millennials, and for this objective, it has adopted a very aggressive design language. "Armed with more style, Honda's tried and tested HET 160cc engine, and superior technology, X-Blade creates a new benchmark with several segments first features in its class and that too at an attractive price of Rs. 78,500 (Ex-showroom, Delhi)".

Honda X-Blade will have two main direct competitors in the said segment - Bajaj Pulsar NS160, and TVS Apache RTR 160.

NEW DELHI:Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) on Tuesday announced the launch of its new 160cc premium motorcycle, the X-Blade, with a price tag of Rs 78,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda 160cc X-Blade is fitted with a link type gear shifter for precise and smooth shifts. A wide 130 mm rear tyre and mono shock rear suspension promises better handling while cornering.

Bookings for the X-Blade can be made at all Honda dealers across the country at Rs 5,000.

Honda engineers have equipped the X-Blade with smaller tyres - 80/110 R17 and 130/70 R17 section tyres at the front and rear (the Hornet 160 gets 100/80 R17 and 140/70 R17 tyres), respectively.

Although with the edgy design of the fuel tank and the sloping headlight shape, it does look sporty, the long seat and the large exhaust still give it a commuter-centric appeal.

The prowess propels on Honda's 162.71cc, HET engine with 13.93 bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 13.9Nm torque at 6,000rpm. The X-Blade also sports a taller fly screen, an underbelly cowl, chunky grab rails and a redesigned LED tail-lamp. A 9 LED position lamp setup appael stands out. A dual-port muffler with a chrome tip further enhances the sportiness of the new model. The motorcycle also gets a full-digital console, like the one found on the Hornet, but with the addition of a gear-position indicator, service indicator, hazard lights and a white backlight. The X-Blade also comes with alloy wheels and a front disc brake.
