The Portland Trail Blazers are the hottest team in the National Basketball Association, and that's in part because Damian Lillard might be the hottest player in the league.

During his sophomore season with the Commodores, he started 30 of the 33 contests in which he participated and recorded 14.1 points, 5.2 assists, four rebounds and 1.2 steals through 30.4 minutes per game. "You know the names in the MVP conversation, the way he's playing right now and winning, he deserves to be in that conversation as well".

The NBA playoff picture out west is heating up, but the Portland Trail Blazers aren't backing down.

Over his last 10 games, Lillard is putting up 32.5 points, 6.4 assists, and making a whopping 4.4 long distance makes per game at a torrid 42 percent efficiency - numbers that will surely have him among the candidates for the most-coveted individual award in the league. He leads the league in second-half scoring. "Every time there needs to be a big time play, or if momentum started to go our way, he made that play".

In addition to his team-high 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting, the 31-year-old also had two boards and two assists. For the second time this season, Lillard was named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

"You could tell he's trying to focus on being physical and finishing his shots". The Heat would have had to release a player already on their roster to open up a roster spot to use the sizable exception.

Baldwin has appeared in just one game with the Trail Blazers this season, scoring one point in three minutes during a win over the New York Knicks last week. "I thought what he did a year ago after the All-Star break was fantastic".

Heat: Continue their three-game road trip in Sacramento on Tuesday.

The Blazers (40-26) return to the Moda Center on Monday night to host the Miami Heat before the Cleveland Cavaliers come to down on Thursday.
