MIUI 9 Stable ROM now rolling out to all eligible Xiaomi phones

The company had started with MIUI 9 Global ROM for Mi Mix 2 in November last year and since then it has expanded the release to several devices including the four-year-old Redmi 1s and Mi 3 series. "We just had our MIUI 9 Global launch event in New Delhi, India and as promised, MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM will start rolling out". Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your devices depending upon the location.

Xiaomi had revealed that all the phones launched in 2017 will get the MIUI 9 update first. The Chinese smartphone maker failed to deliver on timely software updates with most users waiting really long for the new version of Android. However, it is advisable to capture a backup of all your data before proceeding to download the update.

The MIUI 9 update, which promises major design tweaks and performance improvements, is finally here.

If you are unaware, the MIUI is available in two different ROM versions such as developer and stable. Xiaomi also posted the list of all the eligible devices (again) that will be upgraded to MIUI 9, it also includes the most popular Redmi Note 4 that was launched only previous year. MOrover, the update also offers iPhone X-centric full-screen support. The update was first detailed at an event in New Delhi back in November past year, and is being pushed to most of its devices as an OTA update. Recently Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro were launched in India and the smartphone was priced at an affordable range for the masses. If you are unable to view a notification, you should either wait and manually check for the presence of the update. It also comes with a separate Mi Drop cloud storage app, Do Not Disturb mode, App vault to secure all most-used applications in one folder, split screen (compatible with select applications only), new widget options, Home screen editing options and more.
