On March 11, the Chief Minister had written to Delhi Congress and BJP chiefs respectively, inviting them to attend the all-party meeting. It added that more than seven lakh traders belonging to about 2, 500 traders associations would take part in the massive protest. Ajay Maken will, however, attend all party-meeting to be held at the chief minister's residence on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the BJP has chose to boycott the all-party meet called by Kejriwal even as the AAP slammed Tiwari for touring overseas at a time when city traders were facing problems.

"Subhash Chopra (Ex PCC President & Speaker Delhi Assembly) and Arvinder Lovely to accompany me in a 3-member delegation for all-party meeting on sealing going with a set of solutions, based on our experience, having successfully dealt with the issue in 2006-07".

Traders protested in various markets across the national capital today as part of a day-long bandh called by an industry body against the ongoing sealing drive in Delhi.

In a letter to Mr. Kejriwal, Delhi BJP general secretary Kuljeet Singh Chahal said there was no point in attending the meeting since the "intentions of the Delhi government are not clear on the matter".

After the meeting, Maken said it was a fruitful discussion on the issue.

At the instance of a Supreme Court-appointed Monitoring Committee sealing actions have been taken by civic bodies across Delhi for violation of civic norms or Master Plan of Delhi 2021.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had tweeted that lakhs of traders were affected by the sealing, but Mr. Tiwari of the BJP, which can solve the problem through the central government, was overseas.

The Municipal Corporations have undertaken the sealing drive following directions of the Supreme Court appointed committee a year ago.

According to a CAIT statement, the traders are demanding that the Union Government bring a bill in the current session of the Parliament for delaying the sealing drive.
