Hannah Wesche, 3, of Hamilton Township, Ohio, suffered severe brain damage after being beaten by her babysitter who was arrested, authorities said.

Lindsay Partin, 35, of Hanover Township, is held at the Butler County Jail on charges of felonious assault and endangering children.

When the first responders arrived they found the three-year-old unresponsive, struggling to breathe and with evident bruises on her head and face, Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said Monday.

The child, 3-year-old Hannah Wesche, was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center on Thursday after she had been at Partin's house, who was babysitting, according to WCPO.

Hannah's father, Jason Wesche, told WXIX-TV that doctors concluded the toddler was brain dead.

Court documents reveal that Partin admitted to shaking the girl.

Messages seeking comment were left for Partin's attorneys. Jones said she admitted to "striking" the girl.

The girl was transported to Fort Hamilton Hospital before being transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
