THE American Idol teen who got a surprise kiss from Katy Perry in his audition has revealed he didn't really like it. "Am I the only one who was seriously uncomfortable about the Katy Perry kiss on #AmericanIdol?" wrote one Twitter user.

The kiss aired during the show's March 11 season premiere and garnered criticism from some viewers who called Perry's actions inappropriate. Benjamin went on to add that he would never have agreed to the kiss if he'd known she was going to trick him. Hopefully next time he pulls, it'll be a kiss he actually likes.

The Oklahoma native had made it clear that he was a kissing virgin by choice during his audition, telling the judges that he was holding out on his first smooch until he was dating someone special. "That's what a real first kiss is". She beckoned him over to the judges' table for a kiss on the cheek, but at the last moment, pecked him on the lips instead.

Perry is featured on the new judging panel along with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

"It was lip contact versus a romantic situation with someone you care about", he noted.

"No, I've never been in a relationship". Glaze kissed her on the cheek, but she asked for another kiss. Bryan got out his phone to take pictures, while Glaze, expressing disbelief, walked over to Perry.

"You didn't even make the "smush" sound", she said, ordering Glaze to give her a second kiss on the cheek. The "Roar" singer noticed the young man and candidly told him he could come hang out with her anytime.

"Katy! You didn't", Glaze shouted with a grin on his face when he returned to his place to start the audition.

Glaze ended up getting not making the cut for the show, and Perry took some of the blame.

"Yeah I got him", she replied.

"I think you were a bit rushed and I think that's because I sped up your BPM of the heartbeat", she said.

On a repeat attempt, the poor lad fell to the floor in shock when Katy turned quickly and smacked a kiss right on his lips.

In the current climate of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, the ill-gotten kiss sparked a lot of dissent from "Idol" audiences.
