The school was placed on lockdown while officers investigated the threat. "Better not come. F-- this place", according to multiple reports.

As students across the nation participated in a national walkout against gun violence, San Leandro High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday after threatening graffiti was found on campus.

The Sheriff's Office says the threat was unsubstantiated, but the school was on lockdown about 90 minutes as the investigation progressed. The school district says all students and staff are safe. "We made a decision to work with the school and clear the grounds today - just as a precaution", said Lt. Benabou.

The San Leandro Police Department is on campus working in coordination with district and site administrative staff to insure student and staff safety at the site.

This morning several students at Righetti High School reported receiving an anonymous text warning that "there is a weapon on campus".

A march is also being held later this month in Washington, D.C., to protest gun violence and continue the movement.
