Michael Fassbender has a bash at action-comedy - with the Hoff

Set to film this summer, the serves as a sequel to the 2015 short and takes place in 1985, the best year ever.

A homage to classic martial arts films, "Kung Fury" tells of a Kung Fu Cowboy Cop who, during an unfortunate series of events, loses almost his entire precinct to the most risky kung fu master criminal of all time; Adolf Hitler, a.k.a Kung Führer. After a Thundercop dies, causing the group to disband, a mysterious villain teams up with Hitler to "attain the ultimate weapon". It was later selected for the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes and went on to gain over 40 million views.

Originally Hasselhoff wasn't in the 30 minute short film, which racked up almost 30 million views on YouTube.

And now, we get to see Michael Fassbender as the one who is kicking evil to the curb.

David Sandberg will be returning to direct the film, and is said to be starring as well.

Fassbender joins a returning David Hasselhoff, who had a role and music video in the original short film.

Sandberg will also star in and produce under his Laser Unicorns' banner.

No further information, release date or further details have been provided at this stage, other than the recently confirmed additions of Hoff and Fassbender.
