Nigerian presidency to negotiate release of 110 abducted Dapchi girls

"The abduction of 110 Secondary school girls of Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School, Dapchi in Yobe State on February 19, 2018 is the worst form of a deja vu that our movement could have ever imagined at this time in our almost four-year-old advocacy".

Dapchi is the headquarters of Busari local government area.

United State of America has promised to assist Nigeria with latest security equipment and intelligence sharing in its efforts toward the safe return of the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls.

"We, therefore, have no doubt that the Dapchi girls will be rescued or released".

"Your report should be back in one week", Senate President Bukola Saraki said of the report, to be compiled by the committee. Members of the group are suspected of the latest kidnapping, on February 19, in the state of Yobe.

The president added: "Similarly, the Federal Government has set up a 12-member Committee to unravel the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the students".

"Furthermore, the government is partnering with the International Community and organizations including our neighbours to ensure that these girls are safely returned".

The chairman of the Forum of Dapchi Abducted School Girls Parents, Bashir Manzo asaid that "Yes, we have been contacted to meet with the President tomorrow in Damaturu".

The President vowed to deal with whosoever found culpable in the situation that led to the abduction of the school girls.

President Muhammadu Buhari, a 75-year-old former military ruler, discussed the use of negotiations during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in the capital, Abuja, the presidency said.

"So far Yobe State government has received four federal government delegations since the unfortunate incident, which shows that it has concern for its citizens". Buhari has not said if he will seek a second term. "Be assured that measures are being put in place to achieve these objectives".
