"I would never say replace", Bostic said Monday after signing a two-year contract with the Steelers.

Bostic's signing became official Monday when he passed a physical. Bostic broke his foot in training camp in 2016 during a joint practice with (of all teams) the Steelers and he was placed on injured reserve, ending his season before it started.

Jon Bostic, the Indianapolis Colts' starting WILL linebacker in 2017, has found a new home.

After being selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida by the Chicago Bears, Bostic has battled numerous injuries that have limited his on-field production.

The Steelers are in need of depth at inside linebacker with Ryan Shazier already ruled out for 2018 because of a spinal injury suffered in Cincinnati in December.

"I just got rolled up on", he said.

"Before that, I haven't missed a game since my ninth grade year", Bostic said of his injury history.

"At the end of the day it was the best choice for me, the best choice for my family", said Bostic. "I am ready to get going". "He is a special player", said Bostic.

"I did call all of the plays". However, despite that notion, many fans of the Steel Curtain have been clamoring for Pittsburgh to spend what little money they have on a player to fill the team's void at inside linebacker or safety.

Bostic is the son of an National Football League player.

"I'm taking it one step at a time, but I know the Lord", Shazier said Saturday night, via CBS Pittsburgh. "They are going to see what you can do well and put you in a position to succeed".
