Paper leak: SSC Board suspends invigilator

When we checked with the students, we found that a mobile number saved as "Vinita Madam" had sent them the history paper at 9.51am.

"We immediately alerted the board officials who then asked us to wait till the exam starts and then check if the paper was the same". He added, "We opened the seal of the question papers and found it was the same paper".

There were 171 students from various schools including ZPHS (B) Marikal, Pratibha High School, TSRWS Marikal, ZPHS (U/M) Marikal, ZPHS Bandrapally and Goutham School Lalkot, were at the examination centre taking the exam on Monday. The school has found that 14 students from different schools in the vicinity had received the paper on their phones.

According to the police, upon receiving information from Director of Government Examinations, Hyderabad, officials in Education Department and flying squad reached ZPHS (G) Marikal and interrogated one Boya Harish, a student of ZPHS (Boys) Marikal, who was appearing for his SSC examination at the examination centre in question. "We are against such practices". Neighbours confirmed that she took tuitions. But later he didn't take calls.

Education officials have said they have demanded a detailed probe into the incident.

In a shocking incident that shows lapse on part of authorities, the class X History paper of ongoing Maharashtra state board reportedly leaked an hour before the exam at a centre in Kalyan on Monday. Subhash Borse, in-charge secretary of the state board's Mumbai division, said, "We received a call from the centre about 10 minutes before the paper was to begin".

Following a complaint filed by the school, the Titwala police have now registered an FIR in the paper leak case.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking a court-monitored probe into the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) paper leak scam.
