An ikeja Magistrates' Court on Monday remanded an unemployed man, Yusuf Olatunji, 28, for allegedly attempting to rape a 65-year-old woman in her sleep. It's a grim example of a "coffin birth", say the researchers, but there's even more to this horrific Middle Ages tragedy than that. In the recent paper, they were trying to understand the weird placement of the fetus found between the woman's legs, with its legs apparently still being inside the woman. According to experts, the woman probably gave birth after being buried in a phenomenon known as "coffin birth". The results of a further investigation were recently published in the journal World Neurosurgery.

Researchers from the Universities of Ferrara and Bologna in Italy analysed the skeleton of the woman, discovered in 2010 in the town of Imola, Bologna.

The event, which offers a women-only 5K, kid's one-mile race, and wonderful post race party for the entire family, will take place on Mother's Day, May 13. The fetus' feet were still inside of the body after it was ejected. Based on its positioning, researchers concluded it was a case of coffin birth.

"The accused attempted to commit felony to wit: rape a 65-year-old woman by removing her pant with intent to have carnal knowledge of her while she was asleep". The fetus was positioned for birth, and it was already in a head down position. One of these practices included performing brain surgery in a weird manner to treat conditions like pre-eclampsia.

According to the researchers working on a paper, the woman probably chose to undergo trepanation because she was experiencing health problems that were closely related to pregnancy. Researchers are still not sure what the cause of the death is for the woman.

Cops began investigating after the baby was born on November 21 with "severe medical problems", according to the Orlando Sentinel.
