According to a tweet by Insomniac Games, it looks like we're going to be getting an official release date tomorrow by way of Game Informer from the developer itself.

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games' Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 is the cover story for the May 2018 issue of Game Informer, the publication announced. Our hands-on impressions reveal what you can expect from the open world - the missions, side activities, collectibles, and more.

May's digital issue of Game Informer will drop April 4 with the print releasing April 6. We'll be learning that soon enough. It could be coming out sometime this summer, or sometime around the 2018 holiday season, though normally games like this don't appear in Game Informer until they're pretty close to coming out.

A brand new Spider-Man PS4 gameplay trailer has just landed, showing off footage of our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man swinging into action across Manhattan, pulling off dazzling acrobatics with the extensive moveset Insomniac Games has equipped him with.

We've gotten a good bit of information about the game in the two years since it was first announced at E3 2016, such as how the game would play, what some of the plot points were, and even that there would be a bit of character customization as players could mess around with Peter's webbing. Obviously, Insomniac wanted to keep the screen free from clutter during the initial previews, but it will be interesting to see how the mini-map fills up and what objectives are available throughout the game.

Check out new footage from a Spider-Man PS4 trailer released as well as cool new Alex Ross art! We also reveal the names of villains you may or may not know.
