Drone Footage Shows Long Lines for Water in Flint

Demand for bottled water soared after Gov. Snyder announced last Friday that the state program was ending.

Motivated by Michigan's announcement of the closure of free water sites in Flint, barbershop owner Ryan Griffin is asking his customers to drop off water to him and whatever they've spent on the water would be deducted from their haircut or other grooming services. Snyder recognized the issues about two years ago, and programs were put into place to replace the city's pipes and also provide the free water bottles to residents until the problem could be fixed.

"We have not received clear steps as to how the remaining lead in Flint schools will be remediated or how ongoing monitoring will continue for our most vulnerable populations", Pugh said in a statement.

Instead of bottled water, Snyder told Weaver in a letter last week that the state would now focus on "health, education and economic development assistance needed to help move Flint forward".

Flint's water became contaminated when the city's water source was switched from Lake Huron to the Flint River.

The state has distributed millions of cases of bottled water over the past two years. "We have worked diligently to restore the water quality & scientific data now proves the water system is stable and the need for bottled water has ended".

"It is hard for me to watch people suffer", Griffin said. Jim Ananich, a Democrat from Flint, said he questions the administration's honesty.

"It is not enough to just send thoughts and prayers to Flint; I have to do something", Griffin said.
