Mr Olayinka Oyebode, Special Assistant on Media to the minister, disclosed in a statement on Thursday in Abuja that letters had been written to elders of the party, prominent citizens and traditional rulers in Ekiti.

"My convictions about how much more is possible in Ekiti stem not from any sense of entitlement but from a sense of service, of obligation and from my belief that posterity has positioned us for such a time as this. It is a message to the people, my people of Ekiti State, that the time has come", Olujimi said.

"Anywhere Ekiti people go, people subject us to questions that what is wrong with you Ekiti people?"

He said, "We will use local, state and federal power to take over Ekiti from a rapacious government being run by a brigand in Ekiti".

"I didn't use the loan to pay salary. That is why they are jittery". "The records are there for everyone to see", he said. I saw their pain and pangs of not knowing where the next meal will come from. According to him, "this party has a constitution and we believe that we should follow the constitution of the party, there are processes by which candidate emerged in any political party and that was never complied with but I am happy that it has been disregarded and we are going to the primaries". "We will ensure that he will end up in jail".

Fayemi said the incumbent government's White paper can not stop him from contesting and winning the July 14 election. He explained that the party is on the right part and it is attracted to everybody, and urged supporters to follow the party guideline and play by the rule and be rest assured that the primary will be free and fair. Let us desist from hate speech because all aspirants are promoting our party.

He however stressed the need for members of the APC to be united during and after the primaries. "If we do this, we will be damaging the brand the APC is known for", he said. You are free to market your aspirant and leave the judgment to our delegates.
