No Biomutant or Darksiders 3 at E3 this year because football

That means there isn't any chance of seeing Darksiders III or Biomutant at the event anymore.

The Austria-based publisher released the news via a blog post titled "THQ Nordic to swap participation at E3 for the 2018 FIFA World Cup", detailing their absence from the event complete with an apology and plans.

"It is with great regret that we at THQ Nordic must report that we will be unable to miss a single moment of this great sporting event", reads the post. For example, Nintendo no longer has a press conference at E3; it just airs a video presentation during the week.

Expect to see its games at Gamescom 2018 and PAX West 2018. The good news is, it's set to appear at Gamescom 2018 from August 21 to 25 in Cologne, Germany, and PAX West from September 1 to 4 in Seattle.

While THQ Nordic has historically had a lighter presence at E3, the company is fresh off its acquisition of Koch Media, a purchase that netted them Dying Light developer Deep Silver, and has a full slate of new titles to show off, including Darkstalkers 3, Biomutant and Fade to Silence. Instead, the publisher stated that they will be spending their time drinking beer and watching the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while also keeping an eye out for any interesting press conferences. For starters, there's Nintendo, and it's taking the wraps off the Super Smash Bros. for the Switch by holding a tournament.

Last but not least, CD Projekt Red might reveal more details about its highly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077.

Fans of THQ Nordic had been hoping to catch a glimpse of its future projects at E3, chiefly Darksiders 3, but it seems as though the community will have to wait for further demonstrations of what to expect from the company.
