California woman who drove family off cliff was drunk: sheriff

Authorities say a woman who drove off a California cliff last month in an SUV carrying her wife and children was drunk. The bodies of three of their children - Markis, 19, Jeremiah, 14, and Abigail, 14 - were found nearby. Hannah Hart, 16; Devonte Hart, 15; and Sierra Hart, 12, have not been found.

'When I had my youngest, they reassessed my benefits and told me that I was only going to be awarded 50p per week for housing benefit, ' she said.

"It appears she (Hart) was about 70 feet from the edge and accelerated from there", Carpenter said. He is survived by his two remaining children: Conja Ware Rice of Charleston, SC (Wayland), David Lee Ware of Greensboro; and his current wife, Faye Rich Ware, and her daughters Deborah Lynn Clay and Linda Dyanne Bowman; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

It said several items were identified by the family members of those missing.

A neighbor of the Harts in Woodland, Washington, had filed a complaint, saying the children were apparently being deprived of food as punishment. But after spending two weeks with the family Argyropoulos said she noticed kindness, love and respect for the children was largely absent.

Sarah Hart earlier had faced allegations of mistreatment in Minnesota, where she and Jennifer lived when the children were adopted about a decade ago from Texas.

A "missing" poster shared by friends and family on Facebook identified the Thottapilly family members as 42-year-old Sandeep, 38-year-old Soumya, 12-year-old Siddhanty and 9-year-old Saachi. The California Highway Patrol said this week that a submerged vehicle had been spotted but then lost in the current.
