The decision to go ahead with the notch was based on maximising screen real estate.

Aas expected, apart from the top hardware - similar to what we have seen in the phones like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and the Galaxy S9 this year - the OnePlus 6 will also come with updated OnePlus software called Oxygen OS. The notification icons, battery percentage icon, network signal icons will be placed either side of the notch. As you can see, the price for the OnePlus 6 is a tad more than the OnePlus 5T, which it is replacing. As for your selfies, the OnePlus 6 features a 20MP f/2.0 front camera which will take care of that. The multi-purpose alert slider "Slide to focus" has now been shifted to above the power button. In terms of memory specs, the device will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options, with 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM variants.

OnePlus 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is the latest one from the chipset manufacturer.

Apart from the new colour, the banner reveals that the OnePlus 6 will come with two cameras on the back, with the primary camera using a 16-megapixel image sensor while the secondary camera using 20-megapixel sensor. Aside from being able to adjust volume profiles, we expect the alert slider to have something to do with the camera functionality.

A report from a Chinese website IThome shared a leaked poster of the upcoming OnePlus 6, which lists most of the major specifications. However, like it did with the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the OnePlus 6 will also, eventually, make its way to offline stores as OnePlus is now trying to capture a market that strays away from shopping online. Also, under the camera module there will be the fingerprint sensor. It is likely to run Android Oreo out-of-the-box, and support Face Unlock. Earlier leaked renders of the OnePlus 6 had hinted that there will be a blue coloured variant, along with a white and black colour option. Another interesting leak points to the smartphone supporting Dash Charge V2. The company has been teasing the smartphone for a while now and the latest teaser hints that the upcoming smartphone will be an online first smartphone. Similar to the limited edition Star Wars OnePlus 5T which launched alongside the movie, we can expect the upcoming flagship to sport design elements inspired by the Avengers franchise.

The global launch of the OnePlus 6 is expected in May and there is a chance that the phone should come to India within a few days after the announcement.
