'Hotel Artemis' Trailer: A Healthy Dose Of Jodie Foster-Led Crime Thriller

The film is notable for being Foster's first acting project since 2013's "Elysium".

Movies starring Jodie Foster, Sterling K. Brown, Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Brian Tyree Henry, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, and Dave Bautista typically don't fall under the radar, but I had never heard of Hotel Artemis until watching the trailer above, and now my life is better for it.

Written and directed by Pearce, the film takes place in a near-future Los Angeles and revolves around a secret members-only hospital that caters to criminals. Foster plays the hospital's main nurse and overseer.

Pearce was brought on to co-write Iron Man 3 with Shane Black and the two got along famously, coming up with the brilliant Mandarin twist that sets that film apart in the MCU. Boasting a star-studded cast, it's a sci-fi/action thriller about a secret hospital for hardened criminals. The film's characters seem equally offbeat, including Goldblum as a very Goldblum-y villain called The Wolf King and Bautista as Everest, a "health care professional" who's happy to beat the snot out of any disrespectful guests at the eponymous hospital.

Global Road acquired Hotel Artemis in February in a deal sources pegged at $4 million, one of the first moves under the re-branded company being led by chairman and CEO Rob Friedman.

Global Road Entertainment's set a June 8, 2018 theatrical release date.
