LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic hinted on Sunday that he may be included in Sweden's squad during this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation.

After scoring twice in his debut as a reserve, Ibrahimović received his first career MLS start Saturday against the Chicago Fire - and proceeded to head home a goal shortly before halftime.

He wrote on Twitter: "The chance of me playing in the World Cup is skyhoga #FifaWorldCup2018".

It was a disappointing conclusion to a record-breaking global career - he is Sweden's all-time top goalscorer with 62 goals and 116 caps - and Ibrahimovic seems set on returning for a final flourish.

The LA Galaxy striker is Sweden's all-time top goalscorer with 62 goals in 116 appearances for his country in a spell that stretches from 2001 to 2016.

The former PSG, Barcelona and Milan man has represented his nation at two previous World Cup finals and four European Championships, a quarter-final finish in 2004 marking Sweden's best tournament with Zlatan in the team.

Sweden will face South Korea, Germany and Mexico in their World Cup group, with the MLS taking a nine-day break during the competition.
