As reported by Engadget, the second generation AMD Ryzen CPUs will provide a slight improvement over its predecessors, which will in turn give a better value for those who are just starting out and those who want to upgrade their systems.

AMD is preparing to launch its upcoming Ryzen 2000 products later this month which also include AMD Ryzen 5 2600X and the Ryzen 7 2700X and while these CPUs aren't released yet but some enthusiasts have already gotten their hands on them and are overclocking them to see just how far AMD Ryzen 2000 CPUs can be pushed.

What's really interesting here is that at 1080p, the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X was able to come really close to the Intel i7 8700K.

The Ryzen 7 2700X that comes at Rs 24,490 (priced at $329 in US) has 8 cores, 16 threads and a base clock speed of 3.7GHz with a max boost to 4.3GHz.

The Ryzen 5 2600 is a 6 core 12 thread CPU with a base clock and boost clock frequencies of 3.4 GHz & 3.9 GHz.

AMD has had a great year with the launch new CPU and GPU lineup, in 2017.

The 2nd generation AMD Ryzen processors use the same Zen architecture as the previous one that AMD claims allowed it to push for a staggering 52 per cent increase in the Instructions Per Clock, compared to the previous architecture. The particular CPU is a direct competitor to Intel's Core i5-8500.

The new processors are AMD's first refresh of its Zen-based chips as Zen+ microarchitecture on the 12nm LP GlobalFoundries process, which is a shrink of the 14nm LPP node used on the current-gen Summit Ridge processors. All new CPUs will run on the AMD X470 chipset, with support for StoreMI technology.

As an added bonus to buyers, AMD has announced that they will be including a free "Wraith" cooler with each CPU. It comes with a Wraith Prism LED cooler included in the box. The new Pinnacle Ridge processors will drop into both 300- and 400-series motherboards, and the first-generation Ryzen processors are also cross-compatible.
