The game's issues are different then most other games it looks good, it doesn't have a pay to win system, but one of the big problems is the progression system. You can see more in the video posted down below. All items that can be purchased are cosmetic items. Rare has revealed their future content plans.

At the same time, we have also been listening closely to everyone playing the game since launch and have been ensuring that this feeds into our content plans. The Hungering Deep will be released sometime in May.

Sea of Thieves will be getting plenty of new content starting in May and stretch out over the summer with updates and weekly events.

Design Director Mike Chapman stated that while these enemies will be added into the world naturally - so that players may encounter them during regular voyages and interact with them as they would anything else - a specific event would mark their arrival and "showcase them in a cool and interesting way".

Rare also promised "within existing Trading Companies, introducing new ways to play", which suggests the studio is adding a new mission type to the three already in the game.

According to Rare, in the month of May the devs will be having new materials for the game, which will include, The Hungering Deep; that focuses on a "new AI threat" and special event. Players will get new mechanics and new ways to play with weekly events. In the summer months, we'll debut two more content updates with Cursed Sails, which will include a new ship type, and Forsaken Shores, which will introduce players to a perilous new part of the world to explore.

Both of these future Sea Of Thieves Updates will be introducing new gameplay dynamics, AI enemies as well as rewards.
