Kentucky residents have a week to register to vote before the books close prior to the May Primary Election.

You can register online at votespa.com (VOTES-P-A-DOT-COM) or by delivering or mailing a voter registration application to the Butler County Bureau of Elections.

To be eligible to vote in Kentucky you must be a US citizen, have lived in Kentucky at least 28 days, be 18-years-old by the date of the next general election, have not been deemed mentally incompetent, have no had voting rights revoked and have no voting rights outside of Kentucky. Find the time to vote on May 15, it's important.

The October 20 polls were originally set to be held in 2015 following presidential elections the previous year, but were repeatedly pushed back due to security fears and logistical problems within the fragile unity government.

Michael Kerrigan, USI president, said the group hoped to replicate its success in the volume of students it registered to vote ahead of the marriage equality referendum.

If you turn 18 between now and 25 May, you will be able to register before the deadline.
