Aaron Rodgers 'frustrated' over lack of communication from Packers

League sources told Robinson that Rodgers is "frustrated" and "emotional" over Green Bay's front office not consulting him when deciding to move on from wide receiver Jordy Nelson and quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt. He has publicly voiced his frustration over both of these matters, so it comes as no surprise that murmurs of his discontent are getting amplified.

"I know he's thinking about that stuff when it comes to the next contract because he should have earned a voice by now", one source told Robinson. "In other places with [elite] quarterbacks, consideration is given to those guys".

Aaron Rodgers insists he doesn't want to meddle in the Green Bay Packers' decision-making process.

Rodgers has two years left on his seven-year deal, but the Packers can franchise tag him in both 2020 and 2021 if they choose, which would keep the pivot in Green Bay for four more seasons. Fully recovered from last year's broken collarbone, Rodgers likely wants an extension that matches or exceeds the contracts recently signed by Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo and Matthew Stafford - all featuring an average annual value of at least $27 million, per OTC.

"You have to trust the process", he said. Rodgers' current deal has him scheduled to make $20.6 million in 2018 and $21.1 million in 2019, per OverTheCap.

"My quarterback coach didn't get retained", Rodgers said on "Golic and Wingo". Rodgers volunteered during an ESPN interview in early February that this wasn't his choice. "There's a close connection between quarterback and quarterback coach, and that was an interesting decision". "And that was an interesting decision".

The quarterback reportedly had "no influence" in either decision, a point of contention considering how closely he worked with both Van Pelt and Nelson.
