The tweets came from the account of Elysee Mbem-Bosse.

A former MI player sent a series of troubling tweets over the weekend that may have been threatening in nature toward Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Mbem-Bosse, a native of Ellenwood, Ga., is a linebacker who joined the Wolverines in the Class of 2016.

Among the tweets are, "Michigan is open carry". The messages bounce around so much, it was unclear whether it was meant to be part of a direct-message conversation.

Mbem-Bosse is no longer listed on Michigan's football roster.

Mbem-Bosse is a two-time letter victor with MI.

"Going go have your [clowns] say i lost my mind?"

The University of Michigan Police Department launched an investigation Monday night into social media threats apparently aimed at the Michigan football coach, Melissa Overton, deputy chief and department spokeswoman confirmed to MLive on Tuesday.

In another message, he tagged the MI coach: "And was suspended for going to take care of my family".

For the time being, there has been no comment from MI on the situation.
