Fox News hosts fail miserably defending Sean Hannity, MSNBC hosts respond Video

Hannity said on Fox Monday night that his conversations with Cohen "never rose to any level that I needed to tell anyone that I was asking him questions". On the radio earlier in the day, Hannity said "I might have handed him ten bucks" and told Cohen "I definitely want attorney-client privilege on this" at times.

Kimmel slammed Hannity's claim that his legal discussions with Cohen never involved a third party.

In open court on Monday, Michael Cohen's attorney revealed that one of the three clients Cohen has done legal work for - only three?

Prosecutors said last week in court filings they had been investigating Mr. Cohen for "criminal conduct that largely centers on his personal and business dealings".

Hannity addressed the issue briefly at the end of his show on Monday night and said he only spoke to Cohen for legal advice and real estate questions.

But Judge Kimba Wood ruled his application for a preliminary injunction was premature. He said Cohen reached out to him after being contacted by Keith Davidson, an attorney for the woman, and that he retained Trump's lawyer "after he informed me about his prior relationship with Mr. Davidson". But as a self-described "opinion journalist", he could reasonably be expected to divulge a conflict of interest such as the one involving Cohen.

Robert D. Balin, a lawyer for various media outlets, including The New York Times, CNN and others, interrupted the hearing to argue that embarrassment was not a sufficient cause to withhold a client's name, and Wood agreed. They called for a boycott, that's it. "Says journalism is dead and yet he calls his show real news and has anonymous sources".

Daniels, wearing a pink skirt and black heels, stumbled and nearly fell on the wet sidewalk outside the courthouse among a throng of reporters and camera crews. He wrote, 'Michael Cohen has never represented me in any matter.

"I tell you why they're going nuts", Hannity said of the media.

"The hearing is taking place in federal court in Manhattan". "And if he has access to everything that (Trump's) personal attorney has, I can only imagine where that's going to lead". To get the search warrant in the first place, the government had to have convinced the court that Cohen and his so-called clients were not actually in an attorney-client relationship, and therefore their conversations were not privileged. Her lawyer says she'll be in the courtroom Monday.

The raids were based partly on a referral by the Office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between Mr Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and Russian Federation, according to court filings.

"Now, what that means is Mueller's witch-hunt investigation is now a runaway train that is clearly careening off the tracks", Hannity said then.

"Keep in mind, Sean Hannity is a talk show host".

The Fox News Channel prime-time host is Trump's most vocal defender on television, and a week ago he was on the air criticizing the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid on the president's personal attorney Michael Cohen as evidence that Special Counsel Robert Mueller's "witch hunt" against the president has become a runaway train.

Michael Cohen is under criminal investigation for personal business dealings and was ordered to appear in federal court Monday in NY to help answer questions about his law practice.
