"The United States will insist on complete, irreversible and verifiable North Korea's abandonment of its nuclear program in rigid timeframe".

The Choson Sinbo, a newspaper run by North Koreans in Japan, which is widely deemed Pyongyang's unofficial mouthpiece, reported on March 26 that Kim made his decision to change course in early December as he climbed Mount Paektu, the highest peak on the Korean Peninsula and a significant element of the Kim family mythology, allegedly being the birthplace of former leader Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-un's father.

Moon is set to meet the reclusive North Korean leader next Friday for what would be a third inter-Korean summit.

The North is using its Beijing embassy to arrange Xi's itinerary with the global department of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported, quoting Chinese and North Korean sources. North Korea never stopped military provocations such as launching ICBM missiles, sometimes followed up with verbal threatening. But critics say the North is likely to take only partial steps toward disarmament while winning various concessions, and that tensions could then flare again. The US sometimes deployed strategic assets over and on the Korean peninsula.

"The complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is the most urgent task that lies before us and a task we must complete peacefully", the president said while attending a Buddhist service held for the success of his upcoming summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The Moon administration will continue to carry out very constructive and mediating roles between the USA and North Korea as well.

"Kazakhstan welcomes the restoration of inter-Korean dialogue and agreements to hold the summit between the Republic of Korea and the DPRK", Kairat Abdrakhmanov said.

All the Korean people as well as the worldwide community are looking forward to seeing the inter-Korean summit work out quite successful results.

Seoul's unification minister has said the two leaders' agenda will cover three main areas: denuclearisation, establishing a permanent peace and improving inter-Korean relations. There will hopefully be heart-to-heart discussions on various matters including a range of measures to prevent military conflicts, ease military tension and build mutual trust.

The North initially reached out to South Korea when Kim said in his New Year's address that his country was willing to participate in the PyeongChang Winter Games and hold talks with Seoul to realize that. So, it will be of great significance for the two Koreas to set out a first step to recover the mutual trust through candid and open-minded talks, and bridge the gap between the USA and North Korea.
