Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion

Manchester United can edge one step closer to securing runners up spot if the Red Devils can beat 20th placed West Brom in their next Premier League on Sunday.

He would have been as surprised as everyone else that the title, seemingly a foregone conclusion for months, was rubber-stamped in such odd circumstances.

There's no doubting how special City's first PL title was after a 44-year wait to become Champions of England again, and especially the way they won it on the final day of the season with two late goals to deny rivals United winning the title in 2011/12.

With 87 points from 33 matches, City win their first Premier League title since 2013-14 under Manuel Pellegrini and their third since being bought by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008.

West Brom had lost eight of their previous nine games and last won on January 13.

The 47-year-old also took the German title three times with Bayern Munich, but he believes the unique strength in depth and physical demands of the Premier League makes this triumph among his very best.

City must have been quite disappointed to watch Chelsea and Leicester City win the last three Premier League titles, but they are finally back at the summit, drowning out painful memories of their midweek Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool.

The setup provided Pogba more creative freedom and showed the damage he could do with such license in the derby win.

Not only that but he did it with five games remaining, equalling the English top-flight record of United (1907-08 and 2000-01) and Everton (1984-85). "We have spent a lot of money to have these wonderful players, to make that possible".

"Manchester City, we won it for you" chanted the West Brom fans at the end of a match greeted by jeers by the home faithful. Now the question will be can they retain it next season?

United boss Jose Mourinho congratulated local rivals Manchester City for the title win, saying they were the best team.

Asked if he would be watching United play West Brom, the Spaniard told Sky Sports, "No [I won't watch], I have golf game tomorrow".

I dont' think we deserve to lose but we gave them the opportunity to win the match by being solid in defensive and smelling a chance from set play.
