The huge crowd that had congregated at Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event was taken by surprise when Modi, who was slated to present a pair of slippers to a tribal woman, bent down and helped the bare-footed woman wear her gifted footwear.

He will answer questions on social media from all over the world and it will be a "no-holds-barred interaction with Prime Minister Modi, in a manner and format never witnessed before", said Vijay Chauthaiwale, in charge of the BJP Foreign Affairs Department. "Local party leaders and Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah himself are so popular that Mr Gandhi might not make the effort to tour the state again", they added.

At the end of the live telecast, the Prime Minister will join Heads of Government from 52 other countries at a formal dinner hosted by Theresa May to mark the launch of CHOGM. Prime Ministers of all the Nordic countries - Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden - will also attend the summit.

India and Sweden will jointly organize the India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm on April 17, which will be attended by the PM. PM is also expected to call on the British Queen Elizabeth and her son, the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles.

Modi said he would also call on the Queen, interact briefly with CEOs of the two nations who are working on a new agenda of economic partnership, launch an Ayurveda Centre of Excellence in London, and welcome the United Kingdom into the International Solar Alliance, as its newest member.

This is the PM's fourth visit to the state since the NDA came to power in 2014 and second one to Bastar, having visited the area earlier on May 9, 2015. An Ayurveda Centre of Excellence will be launched in London.

"We are looking at 10 to 12 deliverables and a joint statement", said K Nagaraj Naidu, Joint Secretary (Europe West) in the Ministry of External Affairs.

Delving into the details of Prime Minister Modi's two-day visit to Sweden, Mohta said that Sweden Prime Minister Stefan Lofven would receive his Indian counterpart at the Stockholm airport.

He further said, "Under the theme of "Living Bridge", I will also have the opportunity to meet people from various walks of life who have enriched the multi-faceted India-UK relationship".

In their letter directed to PM Modi, the National Indian Students and Alumni Union, UK, wrote, "We the Indian Indian student and alumni community in UK are deeply horrified and demand immediate proceedings against the accused in both cases (Kathu gang-rape and murder and Unnao rape case)". Fifteen Hundred people are likely to participate in the event.

On the sidelines of the "unprecedented" welcome, Modi will also be greeted with some protests at Parliament Square on Wednesday afternoon, being spearheaded by Pakistani-origin peer, Lord Ahmed, and bringing together UK-based Kashmiri and Sikh groups.
