The singer, 25, was dealt a blow on Monday after Sarah Stennett, co-founder of First Access Entertainment, officially cut ties with the musician.

This is great news for the British singer's loyal followers, even if Malik has yet to give us a concrete release date for the highly-anticipated album.

Sources told the outlet Zayn is "challenging to work with", as he passed on multiple opportunities to promote "Mind of Mine", and declined to take the album on tour. Malik seems to be sitting back and letting his work speak for itself as it comes out, but he's confident that listeners will appreciate this new approach when the full project comes out.

However, First Access has a strong roster that includes Bebe Rexha, Rita Ora, and others, as well as a partnership with up-and-coming singer Madison Beer.

Zayn is the second name to leave First Access Entertainment in the past week, as Ellie Goulding made the decision to leave the company after 10 years. A representative for Zayn could not be reached for comment by Variety.

Sarah, the co-founder of management company First Access Entertainment, told the publication: "Sometimes in life you have to make extremely hard decisions to effect positive change for everyone".

The model "liked" a promotional post about the single after he revealed the song - which he wrote about eight months ago - was about her. "It's gonna be different to, I think, anything anyone has done before, I don't think anyone's done it this way". Times change, but that's what I was thinking when I wrote it'. 'You get to really put your experience into something - something that should be remembered forever'.
