Rutgers' conference schedule won't get any easier next season.

Big Ten women's teams will continue to play an 18-game schedule, including eight one-plays and six home-and-home matchups.

The Iowa men's and women's basketball teams don't yet know when they will begin playing Big Ten games next season.

Dates and start times for those games will be released later this year. The Hoosiers finished seventh in the Big Ten previous year, while Iowa and Rutgers finished in the final two spots of the league standings.

Michigan State's three other double-plays are against Indiana, Iowa and Rutgers. In a release, Big Ten assistant commissioner Kenny Kerry said there will be an annual rotation among the league's four Eastern-most league members (Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers) with the new formula.

Michigan State will play in-state rival Michigan, along with Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Ohio State in home-and-home contests.

This is a good move.

On Thursday afternoon, the Nebraska basketball team found out who they will be matching up within the Big Ten for the 2018-19 season. It is the sixth time in the last 12 years the conference has played an 18-game schedule.

On the road, IU will travel to Illinois, Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Home and home: Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio State and Penn State.
