However, now it's time to pay attention to its closest rival, Xbox.

Microsoft is now officially hiring for the next Xbox One (or Xbox Two, which they nearly definitely won't call it), with the company posting a job listing that doesn't even try to hide its intentions. Electrical Engineer / DRAM Memory Lead was posted on April 10th, with it requesting an engineer to "lead the DRAM solutions for the Xbox console hardware development team". In addition to this, they shared that candidates who meet the criteria will be at the forefront of current and leading memory technology used in the latest Xbox platform and, most importantly, future consoles models. And, the biggest hint of the Xbox Two was the listing stating the possibility of integrating GDDR6 memory into the next Xbox console. It's been something of a odd generation for Microsoft's console franchise, as the Xbox One has been part of the fastest-selling console generation in history yet has still been falling short of sales expectations in comparison to Sony's PS4.

Along with the posting for an engineer, Microsoft's website also has a listing for the Xbox Storage.

A couple of months ago, we learned that Microsoft was working on a new "Career" system for Xbox gamers, complete with visible player levels, prestige ranks, quests to complete and exclusive rewards.

But this week, members of ResetEra discovered a video on YouTube from a former Microsoft developer which gives a guided tour of the Xbox Avatar Editor that will presumably arrive on Xbox One and PC in the coming months. Also, going by the development cycles of the previous Microsoft consoles, if the next-gen console is entering the development phase now, it could debut in 2020 or early 2021. Other reports claim that the release date might get pushed to 2019 owing to manufacturing issues concerning the system's main processor.
