Their resignations come less than a month after BBC Three detailed explosive accusations about Kelly's treatment of women in a documentary, in which his former girlfriend Kitti Jones claimed Kelly had groomed a woman to be his pet since she was 14.

A representative for R Kelly recently stated that the star "categorically denies all claims and allegations" of sexual misconduct. Copeland told The BBC she had reportedly ended her employment with the singer on Sunday, April 1.

Now a new BBC report suggests that Kelly's "inner circle" are "deserting" him after two high-profile female members of his staff resigned.

In addition, Kelly's entertainment attorney, Linda Mensch, and his assistant, Diana Copeland, have also resigned from the singer's team, according to BBC3. Mensch was the attorney fighting against the 2017 sex cult claims that were lodged against Kelly in 2017.

Accusations were first levelled against Kelly in 2000, with the Chicago Sun-Times reporting that Kelly allegedly had sex with several underage girls, some as young as 14. Merritt added that during the relationship, "our client was the victim of several forms of criminal misconduct by Kelly, including, but not limited to, unlawful restraint, furnishing alcohol and illegal drugs to a minor, and aggravated assault (via the referenced intentional STD infection)". As a member, she says she had to divulge confidential information about herself and her family as collateral. She was able to escape by telling Kelly that she wanted to grab a pair of shoes from her uncle's house to prepare for a party.

Others say Kelly controlled their every move, what they wore and who they interacted with.
