- The man who spotted fugitive Lois Riess in South Padre Island, Texas and alerted authorities is being hailed as a hero.

Lois Riess eluded authorities for weeks.

After almost a month on the run, Riess was arrested the night of April 19 by police at a South Padre Island, Texas, restaurant after an employee spotted her. Riess was arraigned on Saturday by the South Padre Island Municipal Court, and is being held without bond.

"I'm looking at her and I said, "I know this is the lady", Higgenbottom told WINK-TV.

Though Riess had Hutchinson's ID, she made a decision to use her own to collect the jackpot, Kinsey said.

Deputy U.S. Marshal John Kinsey confirmed Riess claimed a prize at the Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, La., on April 8. She was arrested without incident.

Reiss could be extradited to Florida this week. Police say Pamela Hutchinson was found dead in her Fort Myers Beach condo just days after surveillance video shows her and Riess together at a restaurant. "They recovered a 22 caliber pistol and then a nine millimeter pistol".
