A massive fire broke on the sets of the upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer flick Kesari in Wai district of Maharashtra on April 24, 2018. Most of the props and machinery on the set is destroyed since it is burnt completely but no member of cast and crew had been harmed. "Though it's too early to say, the makers are now considering building the set in Film City in Mumbai".

It is being said that the makers don't have much of a choice but to recreate the entire set owing to the destruction caused. Amidst the shoot, one mistimed explosion happened which led to the outbreak of the fire. The film's unit has been shooting there for the climax and final portions of the film with Akshay Kumar.

The set of Kesari has been destroyed due to a severe blast.

Apart from Akshay Kumar who is playing Havildar Ishwar Singh, who led the Sikh army through the Battle of Saragarhi, Parineeti Chopra is also starring in the film.

The fire was brought under control, a Satara Police control room official told PTI. Marking a comeback of erstwhile director Anurag Singh, the ambitious film "Kesari" is bankrolled by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films and Azure Entertainment.

The first look of the film had left Akshay Kumar fans stunned-his turbaned look and the intense gaze in his eyes perfectly set the tone of the period drama.

News was out last year in October that the film had been shelved, but it appears that the film will continue with its release slated next year in March.
