In game three it will be Tigers Ace Michael Fulmer going up against Pirates opening day starter Iván Nova. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 8.5 runs. He also went 3 for 9 with a double and three RBI in two games against the Pirates earlier this season.

After a great start to the season, Pittsburgh has lost four straight and six of its last seven.

Detroit has made at least one trip out to Pittsburgh since the 2011 season, having had the Buccos on their schedule every year since 2009.

If the game is played, right-hander Chad Kuhl (2-1, 4.57 ERA) will start for the Pirates against the Tigers' Jordan Zimmermann (1-0, 7.71). In 21.2 innings and a 2-1 record this season, Kuhl has a 4.57 ERA with 17 Ks and seven BBs.

Tigers ace Michael Fulmer (1-2, 3.47 ERA) bounced back from a disastrous performance against the Indians with a solid seven innings of two-run ball against the Royals this past weekend.

The Pirates are struggling to score, while the Tigers have gotten their offense going and these offenses will take on a couple of pitchers that have been solid in the early going. In Fulmer's first start of the season against these Pirates, he went eight innings letting up one run and struck out three.

The Tigers are 5-13 in Zimmerman's last 18 road starts and 4-12 in his last 16 starts against a team with a winning record. These teams met earlier in the year and the Pirates won all three games in Detroit. Pittsburgh has also won nine of its last 13 at home.

The Tigers are 7-20 in their last 27 during game one of a series and 1-4 in their last five interleague games. Pittsburgh has been falling apart at the plate, but I think they can get to Zimmerman today. Kuhl's first win of the season came against the Tigers back on April 1, when Detroit got him for four runs over 5.2 innings of work.
