The case was on the basis of a complaint filed by a journalist G Rajesh for defaming Telugu news channels-TV9, ABN and TV5.

News channel ABN Andhra Jyothi lodged a police complaint against Telugu actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for targeting the media house with "forged" evidence. The complainant, Gundelly Mondaiah, a member of the Telangana Union of Working Journalists, has alleged that Pawan Kalyan and his followers used forged electronic record to cheat and harm the reputation of journalists. The channel stated that Pawan has posted an unedited version of the video on his social media handle.

Journalist Gundelly Rajesh observes in the complaint that the culprit (Pawan), his followers and Jana Sena's activists have conspired together and committed forgery for purposes of cheating, and harming the reputation and using forged electronic record as genuine for the goal of cheating and harming the reputation of journalists in general and TV9 in particular. And the case has been registered at the Banjara Hills Police Station on Pawan Kalyan.

This is with reference to the ongoing controversy over the practice of casting couch in Tollywood that was brought to debate by actress Sri Reddy three weeks ago.

Is Janasena president Pawan Kalyan losing the media support slowly but surely?

Soon, maverick director Ramgopal Verma entered the scene claiming that it was he who had advised Sri Reddy to make the vulgar comment and gesture on Pawan.

Angered and upset with this, the actor went after the media channels which aired that particular episode.
