Sky Sports sources claim that the Blues will attempt to reunite the midfielder with Gylfi Sigurdsson by snapping him up on a free transfer.

Having taken 28-year-old Gylfi Sigurdsson from the Liberty Stadium in a £40m deal last summer, the Toffees are one of a number of clubs looking at the situation of South Korea worldwide Ki Sung-yeung, also 28.

Despite agreeing terms with his representatives, the Rossoneri have made a decision to back out of the negotiations and are now set to pursue other targets in the summer.
