After the price changes, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB + 64GB model will sell for Rs 14,999 whereas Mi LED TV 4 55-inch will now cost Rs 44,999. While Xiaomi had initially said that it would not be increasing any smartphone prices in India, they have now raised the price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat. A combination of these two steps seems to have forced the company to increase the prices of the smartphone and the TV in India. IT also features display panels that are optimised for Indian users.

However, as the teaser in question does not come from the official Xiaomi Weibo account, we will request our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a dual rear camera setup, with the 12-megapixel primary sensor sporting an aperture of f/2.2 and a 1.25-micron pixel size, while the 5-megapixel secondary sensor has a f/2.0 aperture and 1.12-micron pixel size. The Mi LED Smart TV 4, on the other hand, has received a price increase of Rs. 5,000, and will be available at Rs. 44,999.

Mi LED TV 4A 32-inch variant comes with HD display and the same custom-tuned set of speakers. The competition for the number one smartphone brand in the country has been vast in the last few months. The Zenfone Max Pro is a direct threat to Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the new price hike will worsen the situation further for Xiaomi.

Coming to the TV segment, the launch of Mi TV 4 saw some lower-priced smart TV launches from VU, Kodak, TCL and many more. Also, the 6GB RAM variant price doesn't change and the model will still be sold for a price of Rs 16,999.

Making the announcement in a tweet on Monday, Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain added that the company will be honouring the Rs. 13,999 pre-orders already placed for the Redmi Note 5 Pro (Review) on Mi.com - an offer that was only started recently.

The Smart TV is powered by a quad-core Amlogic Cortex-A53 processor, which is clocked at 1.5GHz along with Mali-450 GPU.
