To exit on the red carpet Penelope Cruz chose a black dress with thin straps from Chanel. It was an obvious victor, as she took home the award for Leading Actress in a Drama Motion Picture for her role in Blue Jasmine.

The miminal makeup contrasted with a dark shade of lipstick, and a neatly tied bun, elevated her look further.

Kangana Ranaut, who is gearing up for the release of her period film Manikarnika, made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival Wednesday and was at her stunning best in a black Sabyasachi sari. In her words, "Sabyasachi is the best we have, and he is creating an Indian and a few other global looks for me".

Barua said India had great content in terms of cinema and so far only a little had been exposed to the world.

Come day 2 and Deepika was ready to jump into bright hues. To complete her look she wore classic ensemble and jewellery. Deepika styled her oversized shirt-jacket (half denim-half checked) with a buckled leather belt and paired it with black leather trousers and boots.

In a year dominated by the #MeToo movement, the Cannes film festival - which starts Tuesday - is feeling the heat to address glaring gender imbalances in the competition for its top prize, the Palme d'Or.

The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role along with Nana Patekar in pivotal role. She said, "It is very endearing that our regional films - Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese - are getting such a platform and will be showcased here". If we had to pick one word for this look of Deepika's, it would be flawless. We do not expect anything other than flawless from Deepika, after all!

Post which her morning outfit at the French Rivera white she wore white T-shirt and blue denim jeans and Stiletto.

Adding how looks are not the only important quality to focus on, Kangana added, "However, focussing only on fashion at Cannes reduces its scope dramatically".
