Raymund broke the news of her exit just days after the Peacock network renewed all of Wolf's dramas on the network, including "Law & Order: SVU", "Chicago Fire" and its spinoffs "Chicago P.D." and "Chicago Med" for its 2018-19 slate. The actress confirmed her departure with a handwritten note posted to her social media page Tuesday.

Raymund had not been expected to continue on Chicago Fire, I hear she bid farewell to the cast and the crew as they were wrapping Season 6. (You can see NBC's recently announced fall schedule here).

Monica Raymund, who as Gabriela "Gabby" Dawson has been part of "Chicago Fire" since Week One, says she's leaving the show.

As previously reported, leading men Spencer and Taylor Kinney have already signed deals to return next season; Eamonn Walker will also be back, as will Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo, Christian Stolte, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov, according to our sister site Deadline. Still awaiting word is David Eigenberg.

Raymund was considered the female lead on Chicago Fire, with the most recent season finale ending on a cliffhanger involving her character.
