Keith Richards Admits Pulling a Knife in a Trump-Fueled Rage

Trump famously used the Rolling Stones' song You Can't Always Get What You Want during his presidential campaign.

Ahead of the band's No Filter Tour, frontman Mick Jagger spoke about Brexit.

Richards is not a fan.

"He was the promoter for us in Atlantic City", Richards said of Trump's involvement with the band's 1989 Steel Wheels tour. When the band arrived, they found Trump's name "in huge letters" and the Rolling Stones' name in smaller letters. But Trump did and agreed to be the promoter.

So Richards grabbed a knife in order to drive home his point.

'I pulled out my trusty blade, stuck it in the table and said, 'You've got to get rid of this man!' Cohl recalled, per the Los Angeles Times.

"We never have much to do with promoters usually, but this one got me".

And according to Cohl's narrative, what happened next was even weirder. Do I have to go over there and fire him myself? 'You don't know anything! "I promote heavyweight fights!'"

Richards told the BBC that he doesn't get angry these days, but the last person to set him off was none other than Donald Trump. Eventually, cooler heads prevailed, and Trump left.

In one of the most high-profile gigs this year, The Rolling Stones will take to the stage at Croke Park on Thursday night.

He told Radio 4's Today program: "Now America has to get rid of him".

Richards, especially, draws a parallel between his firing of Trump in Atlantic City that day, and what he thinks needs to be done now. "Don't say I didn't warn you!" cracked Richards, who has lived in Weston, Connecticut for several decades with his wife, former model Patti Hansen. It was (billed as) Donald Trump presents the Rolling Stones, (which was) in miniature.

Mick Jagger also commented on Trump in the new BBC interview, saying he's puzzled by the president's use of the band's song "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at his events. When he finished the speech, he played this out, this sort of doomy ballad about drugs in Chelsea.
