"I think Virat will have an unbelievable series in England which will hold him in good stead in Australia also", Warne was quoted saying to India Today.

Shane Warne just threw some life into the never-ending Virat Kohli-Sachin Tendulkar debate.

Kohli had struggled to put bat to ball during India's last tour of England in 2014. "And I think he will nail England this year".

India will three T20Is before the Test series in Australia which will then be followed by three ODIs to conclude the tour. The Delhi batsman suffered one of the lowest points of his career, managing only 134 runs in 10 innings at 13.40.

The Australian veteran, who has now moved back to Australia after a stint as head coach of Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2018, says that Kohli has achieved something that even Tendulkar couldn't. His knock at Adelaide was almost match-winning.

"Virat is as good as anyone that I have seen play the game".

Responding to those who have criticised Kohli for opting to play county cricket instead of representing India in the lone Test against Afghanistan, Warne said: "It actually shows how much he values Test cricket". Historic, not for Kohli's presence, but for Yorkshire who will become the first county side to do a live coverage of the championship cricket against Surrey.

Most clubs already have two still cameras set for their matches to provide assistance in team analysis but have proven to be rather successful to garner audience on clips of wickets and boundaries which are available on the club's website and on ECB's site. "But I think it's a fearless and courageous decision from Virat and shows how important the England series is for him and his team", Warne said.

The match from June 14 against India in Bangalore will cap one of the great sporting fairy tales after players from the war-torn nation rose from refugee camps to join cricket's elite.

"He hasn't nailed England before; Jimmy Anderson has had his number".

Critics have questioned Kohli's move, but Stanikzai insists Afghanistan are not focused on any one player. If it was a series, the captain should be there.

Kohli's absence from the Afghanistan Test has led to a bit of a debate in cricketing circles.
