Frances Bean Cobain loses Kurt Cobain's iconic 'Unplugged' guitar in divorce settlement

TMZ are now reporting that Frances has had to relinquish any ownership of Cobain's famed 1959 Martin D-18E guitar to her ex as part of the final divorce settlement.

It was previously reported that the guitar was at the centre of the divorce battle between the daughter of the Nirvana frontman and her ex Isaiah Silva, who claimed that she gave it to him as a gift.

Frances Bean Cobain has lost her late father Kurt Cobain's iconic acoustic guitar famously played during Nirvana's "Unplugged" set in what has become a messy divorce from ex-husband Isaiah Silva.

Kurt's widow Courtney Love and their 25-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain have both testified in the case.


Sources told TMZ that the visual artist eventually gave up fighting for the instrument, as "she wanted Isaiah out of her life for good, and didn't want the mess of a trial to bog her down". They were married for less than two years.

She said: "I don't have an answer for that because I don't want to speak on someone else's behalf". She will not have to pay any spousal support and will also receive the LA house they owned together.
