Their latest financial report simply says "we are all looking forward to Deep Silver's next key release, Metro Exodus, now expected in Q1 2019". We have been constantly reviewing the games progress to ensure that we deliver a product that gamers and fans of the Metro series want and deserve, as well as keeping an eye on announcements from our competitor products.

Metro Exodus is set in 2036 following a devastating nuclear war, and picks up following the events of the Redemption ending from the previous game. For the first time in the Metro series, Exodus will feature an open world. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russian Federation in search of a new life in the East.

The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC game was originally due to launch this year, but it's now coming in Q1 2019, according to a press release from THQ Nordic.

On a lighter note, the developer confirmed that we'll see more of Metro Exodus at next months E3 in Los Angeles with some brand new gameplay from a never seen before environment to be showcased during the expo.

Rough and gritty first-person shooter series Metro was supposed to return in the form of Metro Exodus this year, a game revealed at last year's E3 which has since received a lot of buzz, but now plans have changed, as they so often do in this industry of ours.
