Now if you live on a street that doesn't have sufficient lighting or if you're just looking to better protect your home, Netgear's Arlo has unveiled new a security light system. As the name suggests, this Arlo product is created to illuminate potential threats outdoors, working wirelessly and with the maker's existing security cameras. The lights offer customizable color settings too and it's possible to set it to a strobe or a beam.

Like other Arlo products this security light is wire-free and weather resistant.

The Arlo Security Light is weather-resistant and designed for use outdoors, such as attached to the side of a home or garage. You can set up a bunch of IFTTT rules, such as having the light flash and cycle through colours when motion is detected - giving an intruder a disco-flavoured warning that they've been spotted. These lights will come in a kit which includes the light itself and the mounting materials, as well as the bridge to help expand the coverage of the lights by extending the range of each light by 100 feet.

Users are able to adjust the motion sensitivity to meet their individual needs.

The new lights should be available in the U.S. anytime now, and later in the year for the UK. In substitution, the lights can also be used with a small optional solar panel, though it has to be purchased separately. The Arlo app enables users to remotely control their security lights from anywhere, instantly sending email or mobile alerts whenever the lights are activated. The product is now available as one, two or three wire-free smart light kits at prices ranging from United States dollars 149.99 to USD 349.99.
