The new Honda Amaze 2018 draws power from the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, both the engines get an optional CVT.

Honda Cars India launched the new version of the Amaze at an introductory price of Rs 5.59 lakh for the petrol version and Rs 6.69 lakh (All Prices, Ex Showroom, India) for the diesel variant. The engines on the auto are carried over from the old model, which means that the familiar 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel powertrains propel the vehicle.

It will be available in both petrol (priced at Rs.5.60 lakh to Rs. 7.80 lakh) and diesel (priced at Rs. 6.70 lakh to Rs.8.99 lakh) variants.

As far as the lineup is concerned, the new Honda Amaze will be offered in 12 variants across 4 trim levels - E, S, V and VX. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The auto looks bold and aggressive with the new headlamps, LED daytime running lights and new grill with a chrome slat. Interestingly though, the diesel CVT - at 79bhp and 160Nm - is less powerful than the diesel manual, that pumps 99bhp and 200Nm. The 90PS, 1.2-litre petrol claims to return 19.5kmpl for the manual and 19kmpl for the automatic variant, while the 100PS, 1.5-litre diesel claims a fuel efficiency of 27.4kmpl for the manual and 23.8kmpl for the automatic.
