Penn State is 51-43-4 all-time against the Panthers, including a 33-14 win past year at Beaver Stadium.

The game, which is the third installment of a four-game series, will kick off under the lights at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Heinz Field and air on ABC.

Penn State and Pittsburgh have split the previous two meetings (both afternoon starts) since their series was renewed in 2016 after a long hiatus, with the former winning the last showdown a year ago at Beaver Stadium. Saquon Barkley had 88 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards, while Mike Gesicki had four catches for 39 yards. It will be the first of at least two night games for Penn State on its 2018 schedule.

As a small point of trivia, every Penn State football game has been televised the past 13 seasons and 301 of the last 303 contests overall have been on TV.

Penn State returns 13 starters (8 offensive, 3 defensive, 2 specialists) and 26 additional lettermen.

It's the first kickoff time announced for the Lions ahead of the 2018 season, which will begin on September 3 when Appalachian State comes to town.
